We are a 100% proudly Canadian company:  Founder and proud Canadian, Kristen Martyn started the business in Toronto, Ontario.  Kristen is a Zoologist, Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism specialist, birdwatcher and avid world traveller.  Some of favourite places to travel to are in her home country of Canada.  “Canadian wilderness and our wildlife is truly spectacular and I feel very fortunate to have grown up in Canada surrounded by all of our natural beauty.  My favourite place to birdwatch is still in my own backyard because each year brings new surprises and I never know what I will see next” – Kristen Martyn, Natura Tours    

We know birders: We know what birders and nature enthusiasts want because we are birders and nature enthusiasts.  Our team is made up of birders, naturalists and general nature enthusiasts alike.  We know the importance of being in nature, connecting with it and the rush that comes along with viewing wildlife and adding (species to your life) list.  We also understand that seeing is a thrill, but knowing what you are seeing makes birding and wildlife observation that much more exciting. 

Expert Guides: Our naturalist guides are experts in the natural history of their respective region(s) of expertise.  Our staff are excellent birders who are able to identify birds by both sight and sound. 

Unique locations and custom itineraries: All of Natura’s tours take place in unique locations and are designed with custom itineraries.  We believe that our guests are entitled to a high quality level of service, and this is what we provide!       

Low impact: The less of an impact that humans have on the earth’s natural state, the better for our planet and for future generations.  Natura Tours practices ecological tourism and sustainability responsible travel.  We reduce/minimize our impact on the environment in various ways depending on the location and the tour.

Conservation: We are at a time in our planet’s history when wildlife and habitat conservation is of the utmost importance. There is an increased awareness and heightened concern for the future of our planet’s preservation. To support local conservation a portion of the proceeds from each tour will go towards benefit local conservation efforts, such as Bird Studies Canada.
